Act Now to Fight Impending Reimbursement Cuts
August 24, 2022
The Radiology Advocacy Network sent out a call-to-action (CTA) this week asking all American College of Radiology® members to participate in a grassroots campaign to ask their members of Congress to prevent Medicare reimbursement cuts.
Without congressional intervention, Medicare providers are once again facing significant reimbursement reductions on Jan. 1, 2023. These reductions, resulting from the expiration of the one-year 3% conversion factor increase included in the 2021 Protecting Medicare and American Farmers from Sequester Cuts Act, the application of statutorily required budget neutrality adjustments to the Medicare Physician Fee Schedule, and statutory pay-as-you-go (PAYGO) requirements, total an approximate 10% reduction for diagnostic imaging in 2023.
If you haven’t taken action, please consider doing so. You may also consider sending the alert to your patients and/or colleagues to amplify our message and issue on Capitol Hill. The response to this CTA has already garnered more than 4,100 emails and letters sent to Congress. Help us get to 8,000 emails and letters and take action today.
