RADPAC Visibility & Presence 

RADPAC attended the Society of Pediatric Radiology Conference to continue its partnership and collaboration on advocacy efforts with the pediatric radiology community. Additionally, Ted Burnes, Senior Director of Political Affairs & RADPAC, gave a Capitol Hill and Election Update at the joint Georgia and South Carolina Radiological Society chapters meeting.


Radiologist Congressional Candidates Defeated in Primary 

Radiologist Sam McCown, MD, finished third in an eleven candidate primary on Tuesday, June 9, for the open South Carolina 1st congressional district seat. Dr. McCown received 15.7% of the votes (10,496) and narrowly missed out on finishing in the top two spots to qualify for the primary runoff. 

Radiologist Karen Matthews, MD, finished fourth out of a six candidate primary field on Tuesday, June 2, for California’s 23rd congressional district seat. Dr. Matthews received 4.6% of the votes (6,398) and missed out on qualifying for the general election ballot.
